The woven bamboo frame is cut to fit the inner diameter of the base ring and secured with an inner ring called a basket stopper. Thin bamboo strips are then inserted through the inner ring using a technique called "sashikaeshi" (inserting and re-inserting). The vertical bamboo strips create a very cool and beautiful vase.
